Anti-Procrastination Device Abstract
An IoT-enabled phone lockbox designed to combat digital distraction and reduce screen time. The device integrates FDM-printed mechanical components with IoT connectivity and a dual-software control system. Users experienced an average screen time reduction of 2+ hours per day. The product was successfully marketed and sold, generating $250+ in profit.
Product Design
The lockbox enclosure was designed in Fusion 360 with careful attention to mechanical fit and user experience. The design features a secure locking mechanism that can only be released via the companion mobile app, preventing impulsive phone retrieval. FDM printing on a Bambu P1S allowed for rapid prototyping and design iteration.

IoT Control System
The device features a dual-software architecture with an embedded microcontroller handling the locking mechanism and a companion web app for user control. Users can set timed locks or task-based unlocking requirements through the app. The IoT connectivity enables remote monitoring and provides usage statistics to help users track their progress.

Market Validation
After initial prototype testing with friends and family, the product was marketed through social media and word-of-mouth. Over 20 custom units were sold to satisfied customers who reported significant improvements in focus and productivity. Customer feedback drove iterative improvements to both the hardware design and software features.
